Coming to my last post of showing the celebrities who follow a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, if you ever consider about turning into a vegetarian or vegan, I hope you consider your capabilities and the reasons you want to turn into a vegetarian or vegan in the long run. I am not yet a vegetarian, but I will be slowly. Like I said, I have taken my first step and as the process goes by, there are events or things that I find out about different people that actually convinces me that I made the right decision in the long run. It will be a slow process, but I will reach the end. I do believe that it is better to do everything gradually than you do it all at one go and then go back to square one. In this post, these Hollywood actors follow a vegan or vegetarian diet. My next health post will conclude on whether vegetarians or non-vegetarians are healthier as a whole and why vegetarians tend to look leaner than non-vegetarians most of the time. Liam HemsworthLiam Hemsworth turned into a Vegan in May 2015. Despite his nutritionist telling him to eat more red meat, he rejected the advice as he has shared that red meat will only make him feel worse. Liam shares that some of his friends around him are vegans and he has seen the benefits of being a vegan through them. Of course, his wife Miley Cyrus is a vegan, which helps him to be motivated to stay vegan for life and his Hunger Games co-star Woody Harrelson has inspired him to turn vegan as he sees how Woody Harrelson is so healthy and active even at old age. A vegan diet is a plant-based diet. A vegan does not consume red meat, white meat, seafood, dairy, eggs and honey. Elizabeth GilliesThe Dynasty actress is not a vegan by choice, but a vegan for her health. She was found to be allergic to gluten, which her doctor told her. And that means she had to eliminate a lot of thing from her diet. At the start, it was hard for her as she is a big foodie and has tendencies to crave for food like cheeseburgers, milkshakes and all of that. However, as time passes by, she started to live without animal by-products and meat and she is enjoying the lifestyle of a vegan! I must say, the vegan diet has just made her glow up as she grows. Daniella MonetKnown for her role as Trina Vega in Nickelodeon's television show Victorious, the actress follows a vegan diet to support animal rights and to speak up against animal cruelty. She turned into a lacto-ovo vegetarian ever since she was five-years-old after seeing how animals were killed for humans to consume meat, which has traumatised her for life and makes a promise to herself to never eat meat again. As time passes by, she also starts to find out about the benefits of being a vegan and how animal by-product sources are made and eventually decided to ditch dairy, eggs and honey and solely follow a plant-based diet. A lacto-ovo vegetarian diet is a diet that includes everything except red meat, white meat and seafood. A lacto-ovo vegetarian consumes eggs, dairy products and honey. Jason SchwartzmanJason Schwartzman is a American Jewish guy who is a vegan. He turned into a vegan as he does not have an appetite for meat and animal by-products. What inspired him to turned into a vegan further is his former in-band mate, who is a vegan, got Jason to try out a vegan diet and ever since then, started exploring for more new vegan dishes and just enjoys the lifestyle of a vegan. Although one thing, whenever his little daughter offers him a regular piece of cake, not wanting to hurt her feelings, he would take a small bite from it. I wouldn't say that Jason is a full-time vegan, though he tries to be, but he definitely is an occasional lacto-ovo vegetarian. Kristen BellAlthough Kristen Bell is not a strict vegan, she still supports the lifestyle of Veganism. Kristen turned into a lacto-ovo vegetarian ever since she was 11-years-old and seven years ago, in 2012, she and her husband Dax Shepard, turned into vegans. However, after giving birth to her first daughter in 2013, she has decided to go back to a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet as she felt that a vegan diet was not giving her enough stamina. Jenna DewanStep Up actress Jenna Dewan is an animal activist who supports animal rights and is against animal cruelty. She follows a vegan diet to prevent harm to animals. Well, she tries to be a vegan as much as possible, although she has been a longtime lacto-ovo vegetarian. In the past, she did try to go back into being a non-vegetarian. However, finds out that meat doesn't suit her body and digestive system. That is when she has decided to ditch meat officially. Brad PittBrad Pitt has been a vegan for a long time and his hatred for red meat is known to everyone. He is a big supporter of living a plant-based lifestyle and constantly shares about the benefits of being vegan. Ruby RoseAustralian Hollywood actress Ruby Rose started transitioning to Veganism in 2013. Initially, she struggled to transit to Veganism due to her complications with hyperthyroidism. However, she overcame her health challenges and eventually gave up meat, eggs, honey and dairy and sticks to a plant-based diet as she is vocal about animal rights and is against animal cruelty. Joaquin PhoenixBeing a vegan for 41 years now, Joaquin shares that the reason of him turning into a vegan is because he can't bear the sight of animals being killed for humans to consume the meat and seafood dishes. This was what Joaquin shared with Steve Weintraub in an interview in 2018: Really it was seeing these fish being killed when I was on a boat as a kid. I guess to stun them they were throwing them against the side of the boat. I just had a profound strong reaction. It felt like a real injustice. It wasn’t just me, it was my siblings, all of my siblings, except for the youngest, Summer, she wasn’t born. My mom was pregnant with her. I don’t know how to explain it. I think it made me distrustful, and angry, and frightened of humans, humanity. I just thought it was such a gross abuse of power in a way. I think that during that moment we knew that we were not going to eat meat anymore. We said to our parents, “Why didn’t you tell us?” It’s amazing. I remember my mom’s face, I remember her crying. She didn’t know how to answer. It became very obvious we weren’t going to eat meat anymore. Tobey MaguireHaving given up meat and turning into a lacto-ovo vegetarian in 1992, the Spider-man actor decided to take vegetarianism to the next level in 2009. He shares that he has a hard time eating meat and is not fond of meat as a whole, which was what made him ditch meat at the age of 17. He also shares that it is not tough to give up meat, especially if you are not a big fan of it. I will conclude this post by saying that not every person in the West enjoys eating meat to the core. There are people in the West who are also not a big fan of meat and will choose to dump meat as they feel it would not be of use to their diet. They will be creative and find alternatives to their diet.
Below are the different types of vegetarian diets for your general knowledge.

And of course, you have to give credit to vegetables and fruits for giving you an amazing body, glowing skin, positive attitude and all of that. I feel much more positive without meat in my diet and whenever I add chicken, I just tend to feel bloated and fat. Currently, I do not eat chicken for more than four days in a week. But even then, I try to keep it below three days a week. It is going well and I am enjoying this gradual transition into a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I hope it goes well for me and that I do not go back to square one of eating all sorts of meat. Below are the different vegetarian diets for your general knowledge. People often cite that a Cricketer needs meat to stay healthy. For all the heavy games that he plays, he needs chicken as his source of protein. He claims to have made this choice for fitness reasons and shares that being Vegan has only improved his form in Cricket. Anil KumbleAnil Kumble follows a lacto-vegetarian diet as he is compassionate about animals and does not eant to eat meat. Also, he is a vegetarian as he believes that a vegetarian meal is more balanced than a non-vegetarian meal. Ravichandran AshwinBorn into a Tamil (South Indian) Brahmin family, Ashwin was bound to follow a lacto-vegetarian diet. However, during a phase of his career where he was going through rough times, his nutritionist told him that his protein intake was too low. So, she asked him to start eating chicken and eggs regularly. Despite Ashwin not being a big fan of non-vegetarian food, Ashwin introduced chicken and eggs into his diet. However, Ashwin could not eat chicken for long and decided to cut chicken from his diet. But he has kept eggs in his diet now. So, currently, Ashwin follows a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet just to keep up his protein level. Through these athletes, you now know that meat is not needed to perform well. There are different levels of vegetarianism and you can pick the level at which you are capable of surviving at. If you want to live a healthier life in the long run, consider following a vegetarian diet and check out the benefits of turning into a vegetarian.

Mac DanzigHaving made his name in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Mac Danzig's vegan diet has made him fully stand out immensely in the world of professional fighting. As his career grew, his diet improved. Before becoming a vegan, Mac finds out that he is allergic to dairy products and thus, started to exclude dairy from his diet and ever since then, he has maintained his vegan diet with confidence and grace. These International athletes have proven that vegetarianism will never be a hindrance to you, no matter what you do. In fact, they have shown that it brings a lot of benefits to your health!
Below are the different levels of vegetarianism just for general knowledge. To people living in the West, do you think that it is hard to live without meat even in meat dominated places like Australia, England or the United States of America? Well, you are wrong. For this post and my next post on my Vegetarian Campaign series, I will share the International Cricketers and non-Cricket sports players who have gone vegetarian or vegan for different purposes and will share what they have to say about this diet. Peter SiddlePeter Siddle made a sudden switch in his diet from being a hardcore non-vegetarian to a vegan thanks to his former girlfriend now wife, Anna Weatherlake. Anna Weatherlake is an animal activist and has lots of compassion for animals. She has encouraged Peter to make the lifestyle switch and go Vegan. He did, and though it was tough for him at the start, he is enjoying it now. Anna never thought that Peter would come this far. He has ditched eggs, dairy, red meat, white meat, seafood and honey since 2012. Peter shares that turning into a vegan has improved his performance for his Cricket games as a whole. Although Peter Siddle received criticism for his performance due to his vegan diet and he was also rested from his third test Cricket match against South Africa. He said that it was because of the heavy workload from his first two test matches against South Africa and not his diet. This was what he exactly said: I struggled to bowl over 50 overs before becoming a vegetarian. So, to bowl 64, I think that's an improvement. So I'm probably in a better place than I ever was. For people to say that's the problem and that's the reason why [I withdrew], they're the ones kidding themselves. They're not the ones out there having to do it and having to go through it. To still be bowling 140 kmph in my 64th over at the end of the fifth day in a Test match, that probably shows the improvements. Adam ZampaAustralian spin bowler Adam Zampa followed a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet for some time until he took vegetarianism to the next level by becoming vegan. Adam Zampa has turned into a vegetarian because of his compassion for animals. And to contribute even more to the environment, he has decided to leave eggs, dairy, red meat, white meat, seafood and honey. Adam Zampa has shared that becoming vegan has made him feel much fitter now than he was before. Kane RichardsonAlthough Kane has ditched meat and followed a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet since 2014, being inspired by one of his closest friend Adam Zampa, an Australian spin bowler, the fast bowler has decided to try the cruelty-free diet by going vegan and ditching eggs, dairy, red meat, white meat, seafood and honey. Kane Richardson turned into a vegan not only because he was inspired by Adam Zampa, but also because he was compassionate about animals and he can't see them being tortured. He elaborates further stating: I’ve watched a lot of documentaries on it, and whether it’s right or wrong, I don’t know if [eating animals] can be sustained the way people are gorging through food. Especially in Australia, we’re pretty spoilt with what’s available. It’s just something I thought long and hard about and tried to change and have stuck to it since. After becoming a Vegan, Kane Richardson shares that he can perform better during his Cricket games. Jason GillespieA former Australian fast bowler who took 259 wickets in 71 test Cricket matches for Australia, Jason turned into a vegan in 2013 after his father passed away with a heart attack. In 2013, he also shares with The Yorkshire Post that human beings treat animals like s**t, and also asked how is killing animals humane. So, that comes to also state that Jason has turned into a vegan not just for a healthier lifestyle, but also because of his compassion for animals. Greg ChappellPost his retirement from Cricket, Greg has decided to turn into a vegan after finding out more about the benefits of a dairy-free diet. He also holds a record for the most number of catches in Test Cricket post his retirement. This is what Greg Chappell has to share about veganism and what made him turn into a vegan: I think the turning point for me was an article that I wrote … on some research done at UCLA in California on their track and field athletes, about dairy products, and their fitness and general health on and off dairy products. And the upshot of the article was that these athletes perform better, they recovered better, they trained better, and they were 100% aerobically more fit off dairy products than on dairy products, and I thought [that] for half the training I can be as fit as I am now. Being Vegan can be tough for most of us, especially for someone like me. I can definitely turn into a full-time lacto-ovo vegetarian. However, I can't be a full-time vegan. I respect vegans highly because being vegan means also letting go of your favourite pastries and chocolates, which is something I can't do.
I can leave meat and reduce my eggs. However, I can't ditch dairy and honey. I also can't live without eggs as I am a big fan of donuts and cookies! When you want to become a vegetarian, observe how much you are able to sacrifice. There are vegetarians who are able to sacrifice dairy, eggs and honey very easily. There are those who can sacrifice dairy but not eggs and honey. There are those who can sacrifice eggs but not dairy and honey. There are those who can only sacrifice red meat, white meat and seafood. Before turning into a vegan, ask yourself these questions:
There are so many questions that you have to ask yourself before making this decision. Learn about yourself first before turning into a vegan. If you can easily sacrifice something you love and animal products, go for it. If you can't just stick to being a pescatarian or a pollotarian because being a pescatarian or a pollotarian is the easiest thing as you just have to sacrifice one or two sources of animal meat and that is up to what you can sacrifice easily. Notes on different levels of vegetarianism: A vegan diet is a plant-based diet. A vegan eats only plants and fruits. They do not eat red meat, white meat, seafood, eggs, dairy products and honey. An ovo-vegetarian diet, known as the eggetarian diet, is a diet where one consumes everything except red meat, white meat, seafood and dairy products. They add eggs and honey into their diet, along with vegetables and fruits. A lacto-vegetarian diet, known as the diets that Hindus follow, is a diet where one eats everything except red meat, white meat, seafood and eggs. They still consume dairy products and honey though. A lacto-ovo vegetarian diet is a diet that includes everything except red meat, white meat and seafood. A lacto-ovo vegetarian consumes eggs, dairy products and honey. A pescatarian diet is a seafood-based diet. A pescatarian consumes everything except red meat and white meat. They consume seafood, eggs and dairy products and honey. A Pollotarian diet is a diet where one consumes everything, except red meat and seafood. They consume white meat, eggs, dairy products, honey, fruits and vegetables. A semi-vegetarian diet is a diet where someone avoids eating red meat, white meat and seafood for at least 70% of the time. However, they do consume red meat, white meat and seafood occasionally. Now, we all know that Vegetarianism is gradually on the rise not just in India, but also around the world. When we think of Eid-Al-Fitr, we think of Mutton Biryani, Bihari Boti, Mutton Tawa Roast, Lamb Road and maybe Beef Vindaloo for Beef lovers. However, like I have mentioned earlier, Vegetarianism and Veganism is on the rise gradually not just in India, but in the West as well. There are Muslims who are vegetarian as well. A few examples would be Shahid Kapoor (Shahid is Half Muslim, Half Hindu), Munqeth Mehyar, Rianne ten Veen and Summreen Sheikh. They are vegetarians for their own reasons. And now, more Muslims are gradually converting to Vegetarianism mainly due to health reasons. Now, coming back to the main point of the article, I am going to give ideas on how you can make super tasty Eid dishes which are vegetarian! This will be through the dishes mentioned below! * This post is not part of my Blog's Vegetarian Campaign series! I am just taking a break from the series with this special Eid post. * Make Baked Vegetable Samosas instead of Mutton or Chicken Samosas!Samosas are normally deep-fried, and that too with chicken as the main filling. To enjoy this dish without feeling guilty, replace your chicken fillings with vegetable fillings such as that of onions, peas, corns, carrots and potatoes. You can add coriander too if you want! And also, instead of deep-frying your samosas, you can bake them in the oven! The oil that the samosa contains will be lower than that of a deep-fried samosa. And, you will get more nutrients thanks to vegetable fillings instead of just chicken fillings. Make your Baklavas Vegan!A Vegan diet is a diet which is solely plant-based. A vegan does not consume dairy products, eggs, red meat, white meat, honey and seafood. So, to make Vegan Baklavas means that the Baklavas have to be made from plants only, obviously. Once you do that, it means that there is no butter in your Baklava. So, by eliminating Butter from your Baklava, you are reducing the amount of saturated fats in this dessert. Normally, honey is used for this dish. However, since honey is not Vegan, maple syrup is used as a substitute for honey. Though Maple Syrup contains as much sugar as honey does, maple syrup contains a lower amount of fructose, which is actually good in a way as fructose has negative side effects on one's health in the long run. By making Vegan Baklavas, you are reducing the amount of saturated fats and fructose in this dessert, which makes it healthier in some aspects. Replace chicken with paneer (Cottage cheese) for your Tikka MasalaPaneer Tikka Masala is a dish that is a favourite of almost every Lacto-Vegetarian out there! A Lacto-Vegetarian diet is a diet that consists of honey, dairy products, fruits and vegetables. A lacto-vegetarian cannot consume red meat, white meat, seafood and eggs. Paneer, which is Indian cottage cheese basically, is made from full fat milk, which is basically regular milk. Paneer has more protein than chicken. However, paneer is high in fats. So, if you are conscious of your fat intake and yet, you love paneer too much, what you can do is make home-made Paneer from low-fat milk or low-fat yogurt. In fact, low-fat paneer contains way more protein and calcium than full-fat paneer! Click here for the recipe on how to make low-fat paneer! Make your Seekh Kebabs Vegetarian!By making your seekh kebabs vegetarian, definitely you are adding more vitamins and minerals to your dish. But to make it even healthier, you can bake your seekh kebabs rather than deep-fry them. By baking your seekh kebabs, you are reducing the amount of saturated fats in the kebabs. Plus, it will be tasty with either pudina chutney (Indian Mint Sauce) or Yogurt as your side sauce for the kebabs! If you want to have Biryani but you are vegetarian, use soya chunks or tofu for your biryani to replace the chickenWho says that Biryani is best with lamb or mutton or chicken? You can make your Biryani as tasty even without meat! Replace the meat with either soya chunks or tofu, though I would recommend soya chunks! As meat, especially beef, increases the risk of developing health problems such as cancer, soya chunks or tofu would be recommended as your protein source to reduce the risk of getting health problems such as heart strokes, cancer, diabetes and obesity. Try out Vegan & Gluten-free Gulab Jamuns!Gulab Jamun is a dessert that everyone loves! Be it an Indian or not. Vegans who are big foodies often think that it is not possible for them to have Gulab Jamuns as it contains dairy products. However, while making it at home, they can definitely try making Vegan Gulab Jamuns that are also gluten-free! Gluten actually causes gut inflammation, increases intestinal permeability, increases the risk of getting autoimmunity and so many other problems. Milk can be nutritious. However, milk also has its side effects, and that too, negative ones such as cholesterol problems and sugar. If you want to make your desserts healthier, try making vegan editions of Gulab Jamuns! Now, I am going to tell you all and assure you guys that vegetarian food is really tasty! Just as amazing as non-vegetarian food. Too much meat can cause health problems. It can even cause liver failure.

A Lacto-ovo vegetarian diet is a diet that consists of dairy products, eggs, vegetables, fruits and honey. A lacto-ovo vegetarian does not consume red meat, seafood and white meat. Dear men, do you think that a vegetarian cannot look as good as a non-vegetarian? Do you think that a guy needs to eat meat all the time just to get abs? Well, you are wrong. These Bollywood Actors will prove that you do not need meat to get the abs that you want or to look good. These are the list of Bollywood actors who have broken the myth of "You must eat meat to look good". Shahid KapoorShahid Kapoor has turned into a vegetarian since 2003, after being given a book from his father Pankaj Kapoor, which was titled Life is fair, written by Brian Hines. That book has changed his life by making him convert into a vegetarian from being a non-vegetarian. He believes that being vegetarian is the best thing that he has ever done. He has given up non-vegetarian as he is against animal cruelty and that he is a spiritual man who follows both the Islam and Hindu faith. (Shahid's mother is a Muslim and his father is a Hindu.) Shahid follows the lacto-vegetarian diet. A lacto-vegetarian diet, known as the diets that Hindus follow, is a diet where one eats everything except red meat, white meat, seafood and eggs. They still consume dairy products and honey though. Kartik AaryanKartik Aaryan has converted into a lacto-ovo vegetarian after seeing a video of animals being slaughtered in an animal slaughterhouse, how animals were taken from one place to another in a cramped up space, how fishes were mutilated when they can't breathe. This video has scared him to the core, which made him leave meat. Kartik has shared that after becoming a vegetarian, the risks of getting health problems such as heart strokes, diabetes and certain types of cancer diseases will decrease by as much as 40%. He also shares that it's a myth that you can't get proteins from a plant-based diet because there are so many vegetarian sources where vegetarians can get proteins from. He adds on to say that it is also a myth when one says that a person needs to be non-vegetarian to be fit and fine. Kartik further adds on that he is an animal lover, which was what also made him convert into a lacto-ovo vegetarian. He shares that it is all about eating right and being active. Being a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian does not count in being healthy. There are vegetarians who are healthier than non-vegetarians. Kartik has turned into a lacto-ovo vegetarian as he is an animal lover and is against animal cruelty. So, he has done it for the environment and to become a more ethical person. A lacto-ovo vegetarian diet is a diet that includes everything except red meat, white meat and seafood. A lacto-ovo vegetarian consumes eggs, dairy products and honey. MadhavanMadhavan has converted into a vegetarian due to his compassion for animals. After seeing what goes on in an animal slaughterhouse and how animals are being tortured just for us human beings to consume meat, he does not have the appetite to eat meat. He follows a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. John AbrahamJohn Abraham has been a vegetarian since 2011. His conversion from being a non-vegetarian to a lacto-ovo vegetarian happened after he saw a video of animals being slaughtered in an animal slaughterhouse. He was so affected by it because he loves animals too much. So, after seeing that video, he has decided to follow a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. Although now, John Abraham is an occasional Pescatarian, so I would also declare that John Abraham is a semi-vegetarian. A pescatarian diet is a seafood-based diet. A pescatarian consumes everything except red meat and white meat. They consume seafood, eggs and dairy products and honey. A semi-vegetarian diet is a diet where someone avoids eating red meat, white meat and seafood for at least 70% of the time. However, they do consume red meat, white meat and seafood occasionally. Aamir KhanIt is the Kiran Rao effect that has made him turn into a vegan since 2015. Kiran Rao is Aamir Khan's second and current wife, who follows veganism. After watching a video that Kiran showed to Aamir, which was basically about how meat negatively affects your health, Aamir has decided to ditch meat, honey, milk products and eggs and sticks to solely a plant-based diet. Although he does miss his yogurt occasionally! So occasionally, he is also a lacto-vegetarian. But otherwise, he tries to be vegan most of the time. A vegan diet is a plant-based diet. A vegan eats only plants and fruits. They do not eat red meat, white meat, seafood, eggs, dairy products and honey. Sonu SoodThough sources claim that he is an ovo-vegetarian, he is actually a lacto-ovo vegetarian as he still consumes a bowl of yogurt for lunch. Sonu Sood is a lacto-ovo vegetarian because he wants to improve his health conditions. He has left his non-vegetarian diet for health reasons. An ovo-vegetarian diet, known as the eggetarian diet, is a diet where one consumes everything except red meat, white meat, seafood and dairy products. They add eggs and honey into their diet, along with vegetables and fruits. Vidyut JammwalVidyut Jammwal has been a vegetarian for more than 10 years now and has shared that the lacto-vegetarian diet has improved his health conditions and has made him more agile and energetic as a person. He does not feel lethargic without meat at all. He left non-vegetarian for health reasons. Amitabh BachchanAmitabh Bachchan did not leave his non-vegetarian diet in 2000 for Hinduism or for the compassions of animals. He left non-vegetarian food because he did not really like it and does not crave for chicken or seafood. Over time, he eventually stopped eating non-vegetarian food and has shared that the lacto-vegetarian diet has only improved his health conditions and his energy level. He nearly had a liver failure due to excessive consumption of meat. Ever since then, he decided to make some lifestyle changes and one of them is to stop eating meat. So my dear fellow men and boys, if you want to leave non-vegetarian food and still stay fit at the same time, don't let myths like "I need meat to be fit" or "I need meat to be healthy" overshadow your decision. Look at these actors and see the healthy lifestyle that they are living after they have left non-vegetarian food. It's all about the choices you make at the end of the day. Too much meat can increase your risk of getting cancer, obesity and cholesterol problems.
Take one step at a time if you want to become a vegetarian. Start reducing your meat and seafood intake first. Then slowly, pick the vegetarian diet that you are capable of following. Then, start becoming more creative with your food, especially if you are a vegetarian and a foodie. Because the limited diet restrictions allows you to control your food and experiment new dishes. Below are the different types of vegetarian diets just for your general knowledge. India is often known for vegetarianism. Indians in India are most of the time vegetarians due to their caste of being a Brahmin. In the Brahmin caste, one is forbidden from eating meat or eggs as it has got something to do with slaughtering animals. Slaughtering animals, especially cows, is a sin for Brahmins because Cows are considered sacred in the Hindu religion. However, you will find that Brahmins in today's generation do not follow these beliefs and will eat meat and drink alcohol. Well, it is their choice that they have made and who are we to judge? But also, there are Indians turning vegetarian or vegan because of health reasons. Some may turn vegetarian for weight loss reasons as meat actually contributes to weight gain and cholesterol problems if you eat too much of it. Some turn vegetarian as their body doesn't digest meat well. Some may turn vegetarian for religious reasons. Spiritual Hindus who can be very superstitious value their faith highly and fear the unknown. So, they believe that they need to be vegetarian to have a good life. Some do it because they are against animal cruelty. Videos of what goes on at an animal slaughterhouse can affect their feelings and makes them fearful. So, they would just turn against animal cruelty and just stop eating meat as they are against animals being slaughtered. I remembered that I was a Pescatarian for one year, one month and five days because I had a nightmare where I saw penguins full of blood on their face and they were staring at me and started chasing me. This nightmare came because I was watching a video of two male penguins fighting for a female penguin and I was eating bacon. So, that gave me a nightmare and affected my sleep. This happened in November 2016. A Pescatarian diet is a seafood-based diet. So, one would consume everything except meat (red & white). A Pollotarian diet is a diet where one consumes everything, except red meat and seafood. Some do it because they are probably sick of having meat. Not everyone has the mood to eat chicken or pork all the time. It is their choice to eat less meat and eventually, turn vegetarian. The Vegetarian Diet is also becoming popular outside of India, particularly in the West. However, I do believe that Westerners do it more for the environment. They do not do it for spiritual reasons. From my observation, at least 50% of the Indian actresses I admire, are either vegetarian or vegan. This can lead to one becoming a vegetarian or vegan because they get inspiration from their idols and want to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. These women look really good as well. Women who eat non-vegetarian look amazing as well. It basically comes down to how you control your diet. Too much of red meat is bad, too little of vegetables in your diet is bad and all of that. You just need to take care of your choices because how you eat and what you eat definitely affects your looks as well. Since I also do not have a mood to eat chicken 24/7, there are times where I feel sick of eating chicken and I take a break from it. And definitely I enjoy vegetarian food as much as I enjoy non-vegetarian food. So, I want to keep a balance and reduce my consumption of chicken and find other protein sources. So, for a start, every Monday and Tuesday, I go on a lacto-vegetarian diet. Honestly, I have learnt that you get as much joy from vegetarian food as much as you get from chicken. How much you enjoy it comes down to how it is cooked and more importantly, the taste of the dish. I also do not like eating eggs too often, so I can go on a lacto-vegetarian diet. A lacto-vegetarian diet is a diet where you eat everything except red and white meat, seafood and eggs. Simply, it is a diet that Hindus stick to during their festival days. Now, coming to the main point, I will now write about 12 Indian Actresses who show us the benefits of vegetarianism through their looks and how they feel and all of that, that can make one consider in following a vegetarian diet. Kareena Kapoor KhanComing from a Punjabi family, she is bound to have her love for food. However, she decided to give up her non-vegetarian diet as she believe that a vegetarian diet is much healthier than that of a non-vegetarian diet. Now, Kareena does not even crave for meat and she can easily survive at any part of the world. Kareena now enjoys her home-cooked Indian food. Kareena loves Indian vegetables and has lots of them. Taimur is definitely going to most likely grow into a vegetarian boy or might just start eating meat in the future. But, it will be his choice at the end of the day. A Lacto-ovo vegetarian diet is a diet where a vegetarian eats everything except red meat, white meat and seafood. They still consume eggs for protein and they consume dairy products. Anushka SharmaDespite coming from a Brahmin family, Anushka used to consume a lot of meat. However, ever since 2015, she has become a strong vegetarian. It was a conscious choice that Anushka made. She made this choice because she loves animals and is against animal cruelty and also, she is a spiritual and practising Hindu, so she is bound to give up a non-vegetarian diet and go on a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. Alia BhattAlia Bhatt has turned vegetarian since 2015 because of her compassion for animals. She is enjoying this lifestyle change she made four years ago. She chose to stay away from meat as she believes that meat is heaty food. So if you were to eat meat, then it would be hard for you to survive in a hot and humid weather like that of Singapore for instance. Alia has mentioned in an interview that a vegetarian diet has helped her to maintain healthier skin and hair and lead a healthier lifestyle. However, I would say that Alia is a semi-vegetarian. She is someone who avoids meat and seafood most of the time. If there is nothing to eat, then that is when she has meat. But otherwise, she tries to be vegetarian in most cases. Her vegetarian diet is a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. A semi-vegetarian diet is a diet where someone is vegetarian at least 70% of the time but however, consumes red meat, white meat and seafood once in a while. Esha GuptaEsha Gupta has turned into a vegan diet from being an ovo-vegetarian. She has decided to give up eggs, honey and dairy products as she wants to improve her health conditions and protect the animals. She has also shared that she is experiencing so much positivity and has lots of energy for the day. A vegan diet is a diet where one consumes everything but red meat, white meat, seafood, eggs, dairy and dairy products. A vegan diet is plant-based. An ovo-vegetarian diet, known as the eggetarian diet, is a diet where one consumes everything but red meat, white meat, seafood, dairy and dairy products. Eggs are included in their diet. Sonakshi SinhaSonakshi Sinha has turned into a vegan since 2013 to lead a healthier lifestyle and to speak up against animal cruelty. She has also credited her vegan diet for giving her the amazing figure that she has today and and for improving her health conditions. Sonam Kapoor AhujaSonam has turned into a vegetarian from around 2013/2014 as her body does not digest meat well and barely craves for meat. That way, she is like her mother as her mother is a strict vegetarian. However, she has turned vegan after learning that she is lactose-intolerant. Vidya Balan Roy KapurBorn into a Tamil Brahmin family, she has been a pure vegetarian, also known as lacto-vegetarian, from birth. She confesses that vegetarianism has lead to her weight loss and credits the meat-free diet for her curvy body. However, now Vidya Balan consumes eggs for protein purposes, so she currently follows a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. Jacqueline FernandezJacqueline Fernandez chose to become vegan since 2013 and has only felt all the benefits since then. Jacqueline shares that earlier, it was tough for her to be a vegan. However, after some time, she shares that she feels more positive in her health conditions and that she feels better as a human being. She has turned into a vegan for a healthier lifestyle and to stand up against animal cruelty. Neha DhupiaComing from a Punjabi family, she has been raised eating meat. However, as someone who takes a stand against animal cruelty, she has decided to ditch all animal sources and follow a plant-based diet after thinking about it for a long time. After she has turned vegan, she has shared that she feels that there is an improvement in her health conditions and that she feels more positive. Monica DograBefore turning vegan, Monica Dogra has been following the lacto-ovo vegetarian diet for a few years. What made her turn vegan was after she watched a show called What The Health. After watching the show, she has decided to turn vegan for having better health conditions and becoming more ethical as a person. Madhuri Dixit NeneBorn to Maharashtrian Brahmin parents, she is born a vegetarian. However, post her marriage to American-born Indian doctor Sriram Nene, she has started consuming meat once in a while as her husband is a hardcore non-vegetarian. Madhuri follows a semi-vegetarian diet where she is vegetarian for most cases and only consumes meat and seafood once in a while when with her husband. When she is vegetarian, she follows a lacto-vegetarian diet. RekhaHaving been a vegetarian for a long time, she states that the vegetarian diet does affect the way you perceive life and how you think, explaining that the vegetarian diet gives you a positive perspective on life and positive thinking. Like I said earlier, I have learnt that vegetarian and vegan food can give you as much satisfaction as chicken does. It just boils down to how you cook your food and also, how it actually tastes.
One more thing, the variety of vegetarian dishes you have also affects your perception on vegetarian and vegan food. Constantly cooking the same vegetarian dish like sambar, rice and yogurt for all your three meals in a day makes you have a bad perception about vegetarian and vegan food. It also reflects how capable you are of cooking and how creative you are as a person. Being vegetarian gives you the opportunity to explore tons of new vegetarian dishes and experimenting in making new dishes. I have experienced eating a limited variety of vegetarian food and eating sambar and rice 24/7 and trust me, this is what made me have a horrible perception about vegetarian food and vegetarians in the past. So, if you are vegetarian, vegan or planning to become one AND a foodie, please be very, very creative with your vegetarian dishes or you will be bored. Being a North Indian (Partly), I am definitely a big foodie! I enjoy anything that is good. But also as North Indians, we also eat with emotions. If we do not have the mood for anything or if we have cravings, then we are bound to follow what we feel and desire for. Like I said earlier, I am someone who can get sick of eating chicken all the time and find pleasure in vegetarian food. I also do not like eating too much meat as I feel heavy and bloated at times. The heavy feeling I get can make me feel like I have grown fat and that I have gained weight. So, I definitely want to gradually reduce my meat consumption and not crave for it too often for my health. And when the right time comes, I will definitely follow a vegetarian diet to reduce the bloated kind of feeling I get, which then basically leads to a healthier lifestyle. It is also for spiritual reasons I want to eventually make this decision. I am a spiritual Hindu and I follow my faith strongly. Strongly to the extent that I can never convert my religion and that I choose to never convert. I respect other faiths but I do not like being pressurised into converting into another religion. However, if I can never convert into a vegetarian in my life, I would have vegetarian food for four days in a week, starting from Monday and ending on Thursday. This will help me reduce my non-vegetarian intake and improve my health conditions. I would also keep chicken and meat for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Or, let's say I am in a place where I cannot get vegetarian food, that is when I would eat chicken and meat. But if there are good choices of vegetarian food, then I would obviously consume vegetarian food. This is my personal choice and whatever choices that other people makes, I respect that. But then, do not go and judge what other people choose to do because they have a reason for making a certain decision. We are only responsible for our actions and lives and like I said, at the end of the day, we have to answer for our actions. Below are the types of vegetarian diets and what would their diet be for your general knowledge. Now, we definitely have role models in every section. Whether it is our health, fashion or personality or whatever, we have someone to look up to. Different people are role models for different things. Not everyone can be a role model for the same thing. When it comes to our fitness, there are some people who demonstrate the idea of being healthy. Being healthy means that you just glow and that you look fine in the sense that you look like you do not face health problems. Katrina KaifKatrina Kaif definitely demonstrates the body goals that a girl desires! She tries to keep herself healthy and happy and definitely has the passion when it comes to working out. Katrina takes care of her fitness and she definitely knows how to balance her food out! Bipasha BasuBipasha is one woman who is known for her gym routines and her passion to exercise. Being a Bengali, she enjoys food very much. But knowing that she is an actress, she makes sure that she keeps her physique up there. She knows how to balance between her food and workouts for sure! Sonakshi SinhaSonakshi has literally worked really hard to look fit and healthy. To her, being happy is the most important thing and definitely being skinny does not make her happy. As long as she is curvy and healthy, that is all that matters to her. Kareena Kapoor KhanKareena was the woman who has started the size 0 trend. Ever since then, she was remembered for being skinny and that has killed her confidence. She wanted curves and Hrithik RoshanHrithik is definitely one of the best dancers of Bollywood! And for that, one needs to be very fit to dance really well. Hrithik is a man who definitely takes care of his physique and who knows how to gain or lose weight according to the character's look. Tiger ShroffTiger is disciplined about his fitness level. Tiger is someone who makes his fitness routine fun. So, he can either dance for the whole day or do weights or cardio or whatever he wants to keep his physique up there. Shahid KapoorShahid Kapoor is disciplined about his diet. Shahid exercises constantly and maintains his look so that he can play as many characters as possible and so that it would be easier for him to gain or lose weight.
